One question that’s always asked is how big can a FlexSim model get to. While there’s no theoretical limit to FlexSim itself, the constraint is usually the host computer; so it’s it’s important to make the larger models as efficient as possible.
Bill Proctor posted an article on FlexSim’s blog, where he discusses his experience in building a massive model.
In this case, massive means:
- 1,000,000 sq-foot distribution centre
- 90,000 SKU’s in 3 million rack locations
- 35,000 orders to pick, sort, package and ship each day
- 1,200 conveyors
