Optimism in 2010
Apr 2nd, 2010 | By Jo Thyer | Category: BlogThere is no doubt that 2009 was a tough year for Australian businesses. Business confidence took a nose dive and we all waited to see if we would get the same kicks that were being seen across the globe. In some respects Australia was lucky, we managed to ride the wave and have emerged slightly tumbled but able to stand upright again.
As we hit Q2 of 2010, it seems that optimism and business growth has returned to Australia. That is not to say there isn’t concern that we need to watch our progress, but it is clear that 2010 is going to be an economically stronger year for Australian business.
The focus for 2010 needs to be economic and budgetary alertness but we need to start taking a more strategic approach to spending and costs of business.
At TMN Simulation we have been working with a number of clients on just these issues.
- “Do I need 1 robot or two?†When the cost of a robot is upwards of $1Million you want to make sure you are able to optimise its usage as effectively as possible.
- “How can I amend my timetable to ensure I can get more passengers transported?†– It’s a bit dicey to add in new services until you know that you are not going to get bottlenecks at critical points.
- “How can I make sure my new warehouse will run effectively?†Getting the simulated layout to work effectively will reduce the risks when you build the new facility.
Taking the time to get it right in the first place will potentially reduce significant cost, definitely reduce the risk of unexpected errors and ensure you have covered the majority of issues resulting in potentially significant cost savings.
Speak to us about how we can help you to manage your costs in 2010.
